Job profile:

Reporting to the President of the Business Unit, the HR Manager plays a vital role in shaping the HR strategy and to implement innovative policies, procedures and solutions to help the BU meet its objectives. The key role will be to seek ways to improve organizational performance by attracting high potential candidates, implementing talent management schemes and developing HR instruments for staff induction, integration and retention.
 
There are more than a thousand employees in this BU, spread over Africa, Europe, America and Asia. The sales revenue is almost €1 billion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and procedures by delivering tailor-made HR solutions and procedures across all businesses in cooperation with Global HR
  • Playing an active role within the Sourcing Management Team by supporting business strategy
  • Providing strategic HR advice and guidelines
  • Being up-to-date with external HR trends and best practices
  • Leading change management from restructuring to business growth as well as managing leadership development initiatives
  • Optimizing organizational staffing according to business needs and participating in recruitment and selection for positions reporting to the Managing Director
  • Managing and motivating the HR function
  • Supervising employee relations, collaborating with employee representative bodies

Candidate:

This fast-paced, entrepreneurial business needs a candidate who is able to imbed business values through financial returns and continuous improvement.

The requirements are:
 

  • Bachelor or Masters in HR, Business Administration, Law or Social Sciences preferred
  • At least 10 years of professional HR experience
  • At least 5 years in HR management within an international corporate HR environment
  • Proven track record in compensation & benefits, expatriate policy, talent development and international recruitment
  • Experience in organization design, development and change management
  • Background in trading and/or soft commodity experience is a plus
  • Previous experience on the African continent would be an advantage
  • Bilingual in English and French
