The organisation is a global leader in the provision of IT services.

Functieomschrijving:

The organisation has 6 BUs and the HR Director is responsible for 1 of the BUs which is also the largest within the Netherlands with about 2500 FTEs. The HR Director manages a team of about 20 HR professionals and reports into the BU CEO in the Netherlands and the BU Global HR Director.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Leads a large HR function (e.g. operational HR Management, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Compensation & Benefits, Acquisitions) and leads the development of strategy in those areas
  • Member of the BU NL management team with ownership and management of all people programs
  • Subject matter expertise within a specific HR discipline with responsibility for multiple complex streams of activity and accountability across the organisation
  • Brings innovation and commercial understanding, creating a tailored approach for acquisitions including works council and union negotiations
  • Governance of people agenda including Talent Management Strategy
  • Manages HR transition
  • Leads and manages restructuring, outsourcing and offshoring projects
  • Presents to executive and board level clients in both Human and Legal HR aspects with stature and confidence to achieve desired objectives
  • Actively shares best practices across the Group
  • Demonstrates strong business and commercial acumen

Functie-eisen:

The requirements are: 

  • University/ Academic degree
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience at a strategic level
  • Between 15 to 20 years of working experience
  • Understanding of technology services and how to build future offshore talent and capabilities - understanding and experience in “talking technology” to business owners/ managers and identifying cost effective opportunities that revitalize the business
  • Experience in helping business leaders manage their problems, drive the business and show value
  • Prior HR responsibility in a similar business - skills and capabilities are the only elements in the business; service industry; highly educated employees; people are the core differentiators
  • Proven track record in understanding a business context and the winning elements for people capabilities and translating that into skills and talent management
  • Change management experience – identifying HR levers to achieve a stronger business oriented culture
  • Experience in handling the media with the ability to represent and be the spokesperson for the company externally
  • Prior experience in the service industry preferred, e.g. outsourcing, technology, etc
  • Understanding the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commercial and financial astuteness
  • Proven track record in making things happen
  • Good negotiation skills at a strategic level and from a business perspective
  • Genuine interest and care for the people and the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and focus on strategic initiatives
  • Ability to successfully coach managers
