The company is a subsidiary of SHV Holdings N.V., a family-owned multinational. As the former Global Talent Director got promoted to SHV, Nutreco is looking for a new Global Talent Director. The position

Nutreco employs approximately 12.000 dedicated employees across 40 countries. Their Headquarter is located in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Since 2015 they are part of SHV Holding and got delisted from the stock exchange. In recent years, the organization has gone through a transition. From a listed organization with short-term goals to a people orientated business with long-term goals. The HR department has made the transition to the Ulrich model.  

The HR department amounts to 180 employees and is composed of different CoE's, an HR SSC, corporate and functional HR Business Partners. As Global Talent Director you will lead the CoE Talent Management, currently consisting of 2 Corporate Talent Managers, a Global L&D Manager and Recruitment/Talent resourcing managers (in progress). Nutreco has different sizes of businesses (on opco and cluster level) and different levels of maturity in the focus areas.

Your direct peers will be the Divisional HR Director Trouw, Divisional HR Director Skretting, Global C&B Director, Global HR Operations Director, Business Transformation & Change Director. Furthermore, your main internal stakeholders will be the CEO and other board members, Corporate Communications Director, HR Cluster Directors and HRBP’s. Externally your stakeholders will be SHV Global Talent Director and their team, other SHV Group Talent Directors, executive search firms and recruitment outsourcing partners.

As Global Talent Director you report to the CHRO and you act on request as his substitute during absence. The Global Talent Director is an active and key participant in the Nutreco HR Leadership Team.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead the Center of Expertise on Talent that incorporates the central functions on Talent Acquisition (TA), Learning & Development (L&D), Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and Talent Management (TM);
  • provide purpose and direction. Develop, initiate and maintain effective programs for employee development, diversity & inclusion and succession planning;
  • maintain close contact with talents, act as their go to person and scout for talents in the field; 
  • TM: provide professional expertise, manage and support the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent. Collect, analyze and organize data gathered to inform targeted leadership development (e.g., succession planning). Participate in all relevant talent meetings at SHV level;
  • TA: develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies (including branding). Develop effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to have influence and impact on the recruiting process and hiring. Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates;
  • D&I: create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the company's diversity and inclusion strategic plan;
  • L&D: build and maintain an excellent learning offering for their workforce that supports the further development of their strategic capabilities. Ensure a relevant and effective learning environment that offers attractive learning paths for all of their global capabilities.

Candidate profile

  • Degree in HR, business, legal or other related areas, MBA or other additional professional credential is a plus;
  • minimum 10 years of work experience within a multinational business environment, several industry experience and having lived and/or worked in different countries - therefore a track record of impacting globally;
  • deep functional and strategic experience within 2 or more of the areas of expertise (TM/TA/L&D/D&I);
  • profound project experience / change management experience  involving multiple functions and multiple countries;
  • people management experience (direct reports > 5 fte);
  • experience with Workday is considered to be an asset;
  • fluent in English;
  • strategic mindset as well as hands on decisive handling, capability to switch quickly and knowledge of how to build common ground;
  • track record of being amongst senior stake- and shareholders (C-level).
