The position

For our client, a dynamic and trailblazing global fintech company, we are recruiting a Regional Treasury Director responsible for the EMEA and LATAM businesses.

Goal and scope of the role:

  • You will lead the Treasury operations of the EMEA and LATAM regions, ensure effective management of the core treasury functions (cash, liquidity, risk, debt & funding, and bank relationship management) and spearhead operational optimization initiatives and integrations.
  • You act as a strategic business partner to the organization, collaborating on treasury product development initiatives, optimizing settlements, liquidity/funding structures, driving automation and governance, risk & compliance (GRC) in the function, and ensuring it is a value-adding function.

Reporting line:

  • You will report to the Global CFO Payments Business and to the Global VP Treasury.
  • You will manage the existing Treasury team responsible for EMEA and LATAM (3fte).

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop and execute treasury strategies to optimize capital structure, liquidity, and interest rate risk.
  • Manage or oversee the cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits.
  • Prepare and present cash forecasts and financial analyses to the Board of the company to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Be hands on in maintaining and managing relationships with financial service providers, including banks, investment advisors, and credit agencies.
  • Oversee daily cash management functions, including cash concentration, wires, and account funding.
  • Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs and invest in short-term excess cash.
  • Develop risk management procedures to mitigate financial risks. Manage interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, and counterparty credit risk.
  • Lead, guide, and evaluate the performance of the treasury team and work closely with EMEA and LATAM Regional leaders.
  • Lead the treasury stream of strategic initiatives and product development.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures in day-to-day conduct and supervision of cash management activities.
  • Prepare and recommend policies and procedures for activities in the areas of treasury management to ensure that financial objectives are achieved.
  • Stay updated with technological advances and treasury-related software.
  • Participate in the execution of acquisitions, mergers, or other business dealings that have significant treasury implications.

Candidate profile

  • A University - Bachelor or Master - degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. An additional advanced professional certification (MBA, CFA, or other) is beneficial.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in corporate treasury and finance roles.
  • Experience working for international Fintech companies is a must, experience with payment services is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of financial operations and settlements and extensive knowledge of financial strategies, banking, money market and capital market products.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and relevant regulatory treasury-related requirements.
  • Full professional proficiency in English. Proficiency in Dutch, Spanish or other languages is beneficial.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and related technologies.
  • Proficient in business intelligence software, Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and digital payment methods is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to engage, motivate and mentor team members as well as leading by example skills.
  • Highly analytical with strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.

Candidates who require any form of Visa sponsorship or relocation support will NOT be considered for this position.

To be considered for this position candidates must live in commuting distance of the office in the Amsterdam area (2/3 days per week) and qualify to work under a Dutch employment contract, either via EU citizenship or a permanent EU work permit.
