Job profile:
 
The Finance Director Netherlands is responsible for Business Control, Accounting and Business Support Administration. 
 
The Finance Director Netherlands reports to the Country Managing Director (CMD) of the Netherlands, with a dotted line to the Group CFO. The Finance Director Netherlands has an important role in the Dutch Management Team (‘Nederlandse Directie’) and works closely together with Finance Directors of other countries. 
 
As a strong business partner of the CMD and the Management Team, the Finance Director Netherlands should actively contribute to the development of the company towards set targets by challenge, monitor and analyze the business from both a strategic and an operational perspective. Also strategic goals are set for TWC and cash. Managing trade working capital and the cash position are therefore also important elements of the role of the Finance Director Netherlands. 
 
The Finance department is one of the staff organizations, consisting of 50 people located in multiple locations.
 
The Finance Director Netherlands leads the F&C department and he/she is expected to develop the financial and business support function to support increased profitability. The Finance Director Netherlands has six direct reports. 
 
As a member of the Dutch Management Team, the Finance Director has an important role in the development and implementation of the various programs and the implementation of the new ERP system.
 
Strategy & organisation
 
  • Manage Dutch results, monitor risks and profits in projects and improve the financial risk and controls framework;
  • Lead and develop financial and business support function;
  • Ensure that the financial department has the most effective organisational structure, is optimally staffed with engaged personnel which work collaborative.;
  • Enhance profit-awareness in the organization.
Planning, budgeting & reporting
 
  • Responsible for the company's legal reporting and reporting to the Group in conformity with IFRS;
  • Prepare (yearly and monthly) budgets and forecasts in a way that the business results become even more predictable (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, KPI’s);
  • Responsible for monthly financial statements delivered correctly and on time;
  • Manage Trade working capital and cash;
  • Prepare audited financial statements and tax returns of the company.
Business support
 
  • Support Country Managing Director and Business Line Directors in driving business performance, to achieve results and meet budget targets;
  • Judging commercial initiatives and decisions on their financial impact;
  • Supervising the profitability and advising on business initiatives.
IT & other
 
  • System owner of the Finance department's IT systems and reporting tools. Involved in the implementation of a new ERP-system;
  • Report on external business trends and developments and its impact on the business.
Job requirements:
 
Given the character of the role, it is essential that the Finance Director Netherlands combines thorough financial management experience with a commercial focus and international exposure. A successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commercial understanding and business acumen in professional services with complex projects. Finally he/she is able to translate MT vision to strategy and execution.
 
The requirements are:
 
  • Experience in professional services (business and client focused) is a must!;
  • Experience with control of complex projects is a must!;
  • Academic degree, preferably extended educated as RC or RA;
  • Demonstrated functional financial and control skills, knowledge and experience (at least 10 years) in the role of Finance Director / CFO or equivalent;
  • At least 10 years of successful experience in an international organization, preferably a listed company;
  • Strong leadership experience in a change orientated environment, experience with change-management;
  • Experience from reporting to an international HQ;
  • Affinity of IT (financial systems, ERP, etc.) is self-evident in this role;
  • Fluent verbal and written in Dutch and English;
  • Proactive, self propelling and hands-on.
