Damen Yachting operates in a highly project-driven environment with project values between Eur 80 – 200 mio, with a 3-5 years timeframe. At any moment in time Damen Yachting works on about 20 to 25 yachts in different stages of the construction process.  

To strengthen the Management Team Damen Yachting is looking for an ambitious Finance Director. 

The position

As the Finance Director of Damen Yachting, you will be a key member of the management team and have overall responsibility for the finance team (approximately 15 employees). The Manager Financial Control and Manager Business Control are directly reporting to you. You are reporting to the CFO of Damen Shipyards Group and to the Managing Director of Damen Yachting. 
In this role, you play a crucial part in shaping the financial strategy of Damen Yachting, ensuring the optimization of financial processes, cost control, and working capital optimization. You have a hands-on mentality, are an inspiring leader, and can translate strategic goals into concrete actions.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for financial planning, reporting, and control within Damen Yachting.
• Leading and developing the Finance team.
• Optimizing working capital and improving financial processes.
• Managing cost optimization and efficiency improvements within a complex project environment with long lead times.
• Advising the Managing Director and management team on strategic financial matters.
• Coordinating and maintaining relationships with banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
• Aligning with the CFO of Damen Group and contributing to the division-wide financial strategy.
• Improving financial systems and automation tools to support business operations.
• Actively contributing to financing structures and treasury-related matters within Damen Yachting.

Candidate profile

Skills & Experience

• Master degree and preferably an RA or RC qualification.
• At least 15-20 years of experience as a Finance Director in preferably a project-driven, capital-intensive environment with long lead times.
• Strong leadership skills with an inspiring and hands-on mentality.
• Extensive experience in working capital optimization, cost control, and managing complex business structures (Division vs. Group).
• Experience in treasury and financing options is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate at various levels, from operational to executive board level.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and a results-driven mindset.
• Affinity for optimizing financial processes and automation tools.
