Corporate Controller/future CFO – Frankfurt based for at least 4 days/week.

The Company

As the worldwide market leader in its segment, Company has subsidiaries in 10 countries, with about 900 employees, generating approximately 600m USD of sales at a relatively high operational margin. The company is now owned by PE in its secondary buy-out phase. The company needs to be streamlined towards an exit scenario.

Main task for management is trying to generate cash (or find any other solution) in order to reduce the debt/interest burden as early as possible.

The Department

The present, more accounting oriented, group controlling has to be developed into a performance/business centered controlling. Globally spread over various cultures it is important for Company to maintain generally adhered processes to ensure good corporate governance. The team of the Corporate Controller provides the project managers for making the budget and the mid-term plan, and the Corporate Controller himself is a key player in the budgeting process.

The Function

Reports to the CFO.

Number of staff is 10, thereof 3 direct reports in Corporate Finance and 7 regional controllers with a staff of together worldwide ± 50 people.

Location: Frankfurt (at least 4 days a week)

The Responsibilities

• Responsible for all financial controlling processes and the optimal support by the SAP system
• Ensures that group stays within financial cost budget
• Prepares an annual Management Development Plan for his/her group
• Budgetting, Planning and Control cycle
• Accounting, Reporting and Analysis
• Asset Allocation
• Risk Management
• Project Tasks

The Requirements

Broad professional knowledge, understanding international business, accurate, strong conceptual and critical thinking, good acumen for risks and opportunities, customer focus, true leadership competences, clear communicator, motivator and networker, meets commitments, can deal with stress and setbacks, problem solver.

A Master’s/Bachelor’s degree (M.B.A. / B.A.) in business administration

Nine to twelve years of applicable experience is desired, preferably in midsized manufacturing companies in similar industries with international footprint. Less experience could be accepted for outstanding candidates.

Proven track record as industrial controller on group level or in similar function for a division of a multinational group.

Experience in a Private Equity owned company is helpful, preferably with exposure to an exit process.

Exposure to M&A/direct involvement in due diligence processes is required.

In-depth knowledge of Industrial Controlling. Good understanding of taxes in an international environment. Knowledge and understanding for the chemical industry, its products, markets and customers is an asset.

Professional knowledge of international financial standards and regulations and as well of SAP as the core system.

Strong knowledge of English, and German or Dutch
