The position

Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) is an international energy services and solutions company. Everything they do is focused on satisfying the changing needs of their customers in an evolving energy market. In this role you are responsible as a senior Sales Manager to strengthen and integrate the dynamic sales team working across Belgium and the Netherlands. This includes developing capability and expertise for all current technologies offered in the portfolio (DSR, Battery, CHP) as well as set up the capability to develop new business opportunities.

The main purpose of this role will be setting the growth ambition, develop a clear vision and translate that into a plan to realise the ambition for 2025. You will align with and ensure sponsorship & support from key senior stakeholders and deliver a material multi-million revenue business.

You will be part of the Management Team for sales and NL/BE.

Tasks & responsibilities

Under your leadership, you will deliver with your team the following;

  • Offer CHP, Batteries and Demand Response services to B2B energy consumers and advise them on how to optimise their energy use, identify flexible powerconsumption and therefore reduce their total energy cost
  • Apply expert sales techniques and an intimate knowledge of B2B end consumer energy usage to grow our DSR business in Belgium & NL
  • Close deals with large industrial consumers aimed at sourcing flexible power. This includes managing the first contact, the industrial site visit, the analysis, client presentation and closing of a sourcing contract
  • Identify and visit large energy consuming companies in Belgium and NL
  • Introduce the CBS energy concepts/technologies to C-Level executives, production directors and plant managers
  • Screen production flows and specific manufacturing processes in various industries for flexible power
  • Determine the potential for Demand Response through analysis of power data, specifically identify opportunities in NL
  • Make appealing commercial proposals and negotiate contracts with various industrial power consumers
  • Meet jointly agreed sales targets and set targets for the team members
  • Present CBS' energy solutions and specifically Demand Response concept at trade fairs and events organized by trade federations
  • Deliver a material multi-million revenue business (>3m€ of Gross Margin per annum)
  • Strengthen and continue to develop an integrated Sales team working across Belgium and NL

Candidate profile

  • A university degree/higher vocational education (e.g. engineering) or equivalent through experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the electricity market in Belgium & NL
  • A good understanding of at least 2 of the following technologies: Demand Response, Batteries and Combined Heat & Power
  • An interest in either energy solutions or industrial processes in different fields, such as chemicals, metallurgy, paper or glass industry, etc
  • Hungry to develop broad understanding of diverse manufacturing processes and open to work with experts in these areas
  • Commercially savvy with a strong demonstrable track record of building new sales
  • A “hunters” mentality and/or a “hunters” sales track record
  • Capable of advising plant and/or senior management on a commercial proposal and to assist them towards a signed agreement
  • Good understanding of and experience in working in both Belgium as well as Dutch organisations/teams
  • Able to lead across border teams towards integration
  • Able to develop a vision, translate that into a plan and lead & inspire the change with the team
  • Experience with use of CRM software
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in building teams and new capabilities
