Hans Anders Retail Group headquarters are in Gorinchem and Hamburg and they recently also opened an innovation lab in Rotterdam. 

For 40 years, Hans Anders Retail Group has offered high quality products for competitive prices. The company started with the intention to change the eyesight market. The 3 entrepreneurs who started the company were named ‘Hans’, and ‘Anders’ means different. Nowadays, the company still makes a difference. They provide eye and ear products for around a million customers each year.

Hans Anders Retail Group is looking to be super smart, creative and innovative with data. Hence the company is expanding with a Director Marketing Intelligence & Data. 

The position

Hans Anders Retail Group (Hans Anders, eyes + more and Direct Optik) offers glasses, contact lenses and hearing aids for around a million customers yearly. The company is rich in data and wants to use it. The Director Marketing Intelligence & Data is an international role responsible for data strategy and the implementation of data based initiatives to sustain the frontrunning position of the company. 

Tasks & responsibilities

The new Director Marketing Intelligence & Data is on a mission to get the most out of the data at hand. They come up with data strategy and data related models, pursue implementation of initiatives and evangelize a data driven way of working. The role has an international focus.

Data at Hans Anders Retail Group is rich and ample. The nature of the business makes it that almost every customer leaves a trace of data. The Director Marketing Intelligence & Data is responsible to create a solid ecosystem from the perspective of marketing intelligence. It is not only a strategic role, the Director Marketing Intelligence & Data also supports implementation of (pilot) initiatives and ensures that the needle of the company’s success is actually moving. 

Hans Anders Retail Group uses data in many aspects of the company’s strategy, for example to acquire customers, to optimize the scheduling of appointments, to improve customer experience, to increase conversion and to retain customers. Many things are possible and creativity is stimulated. An example of a recent data driven initiative is that Hans Anders Retail Group donated free audiobooks to clients who bought their pair of glasses.

The Director Marketing Intelligence & Data is the go-to-person when it comes to exhibiting the additional value of a data driven culture. For instance, they develop and standardize reporting and drive the usage across marketing and digital functions.

The team consists of 5 FTE, managed by the Director Marketing Intelligence & Data. They build relationships. Internally with business partners like marketing, digital and IT. Also externally, for example in partnerships with external marketing intelligence and data agencies.
