The consulting team in Amsterdam consists of about forty people of over twenty different nationalities. Its local clients include JDE, Unilever, Heineken, Shell, and Adidas. The Amsterdam office is tasked with growing the consulting business across EMEA. The presence of numerous international headquarters makes the Amsterdam Consulting team one of Kantar’s key growth units. The plan is to more than double the local consulting revenues over the next couple of years.

The position

The Consulting Director will be instrumental to the growth of the Amsterdam consulting team. They will be responsible for expanding the client portfolio and leading project delivery, mainly focused on organizational performance – the largest practice in Amsterdam. To accelerate growth, the Consulting Director will be able to leverage existing client relationships and the data, insights, and expertise available in the other practices and domains of Kantar, locally and internationally.

With their primary focus being the organizational performance practice, the Consulting Director will help organizations articulate their marketing approach, design operating models, and develop and deliver tailored capability-building programs. Projects they could work on include putting in place a marketing and sales growth academy, creating a segmented marketing strategy, and streamlining cross-country marketing planning. A scope that will require a strong conceptual view on marketing and branding.

The Consulting Director will be responsible for leading project teams of about two to five consultants each. They will inspire them and provide ample opportunities for growth and development. As part of Kantar’s leadership team, the Consulting Director will contribute to an environment that is supportive, inclusive, caring, human, and honest. They will embody the company’s unique and people-centered culture, internally and toward clients.

Collaborating will be a key part of the role. The Consulting Director will work closely with colleagues from other practice areas, other offices, and other domains (Insights and Analytics & Technology). They will partner with C-suite clients, become a trusted advisor, and bring inspiration and thought leadership. All to deliver profitable growth by harnessing the power of Kantar’s collective expertise and client-centric perspective.

Candidate profile*

  • Over eight years of work experience
  • As Brand or Marketing Director in an international context
  • And/or in Consulting with a focus on marketing strategies
  • Experience with developing marketing models, ways of working, and competency models/curricula
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience working with complex stakeholder setups
  • Strong team building and people skills
