The position

The Group Compliance Officer oversees the Corporate Compliance Programme and functions as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the organisation. The position ensures the Board of Directors, management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory bodies, that company policies and procedures are being and codes of conduct are followed.  The position works in close liaison with the Business Unit directors with regards to policies and procedures

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures of the Compliance Programme and manages the day-to-day operation of the Programme.
  • Develops and periodically reviews and updates Description Internal Organisation and/or Code of Conduct
  • Collaborates with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations and ensure [proper reporting of violations
  • Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance Issues/concerns within the organisation are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk
  • Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Corporate Compliance Committee, the Board and senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
  • Promotes heightened awareness of Code of Conduct and understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures to the wider business
  • Liaise closely with the Human Resources Department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers. 
  • Monitors compliance procedures by conducting audits;
  • Act as sounding board for Business Unit Directors on compliance area.

Candidate profile

  • Educated to Univeristy level in Law, Finance or a related subject
  • Be able to demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within a trust organisation.
  • Be a strong people manager
  • Familiarity with operational, financial and quality assurance procedures and regulations is a must.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build bridges with the business
  • Fully familiar with WTT

Salary conditions

Max. €120.000.
