The position

We’re seeking a strategic thinker with a passion for new technologies and innovation. This is a chance to make your mark on Shell’s direction, and develop your professional and personal skills within a supportive, global company.

What's the role
As an IT Strategy Consultant, you’re going to be providing vital consulting support for strategic IT themes that will impact our business performance. That means analysing our technology portfolio, reviewing trends and innovations in the market, and cultivating a deep understanding of the dynamics of our business. Information which you will then use to define and develop strategic, competitive insights and advise, backed by solid data.

Tasks & responsibilities

More specifically, your duties will include:

• Analyzing business goals and objectives by engaging with senior business leaders.
• Providing your view on how IT and new digital technologies can help us to achieve our goals.
• Developing clear recommendations, underpinned by data and a solid business case.

Your excellent people skills will be crucial here, as you nurture collaborative stakeholder relations at every level to influence and drive our strategies, and, importantly, guide people to make changes that will have a direct impact on our commercial success.

Where you fit in
You’re going to be a vital part of our IT Strategy Consulting Center of Expertise (CoE), a team of professionals who are passionate about helping Shell use technology to drive our business into the future. The CoE partners closely with each area of our business to develop IT Strategic insights where they matter most.

Candidate profile

What we need from you
We’re keen to hear from men and women who have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in IT and/or Management, along with relevant IT experience and knowledge of digital technologies.

We’d hope to see as many of the following as possible on your CV:

• Ideally, experience of strategic consultancy.
• Proven track record of nurturing strong stakeholder relationships at every level.
• Experience of Oil & Gas and/or Energy industries will be beneficial.
• Evidence of your resilience and ability to successfully manage challenge and conflict.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills
