Project Finance Director

Organisation

Our client is a growing subsidiary (TR appr. 300 million euro) of an international organisation (TR appr. 1,5 billion euro), owned by a private equity firm. Our client is mainly active in multi-million/billion euro projects in Europe. The projects are owned by different consortiums and executed by our client. In the near future it is not unlikely that our clients needs to invest in equity to obtain assignments in newly initiated projects.

Following the growth and further potential and plans of the business, our client is looking for a Project Finance Director/ Controller who takes responsibility for the finance, control and the (operational) risk of the projects.

Job description

The tasks and responsibilities of the Project Finance Director (PFD) consists of:

  • Supervising and supporting the financial and administrative aspects of the activities, focusing on achieving the best possible result
  • In consultation with management, generating the project reports, management reports and forecasts on time, helping to sharpen the focus on the results
  • Ensuring that corporate reporting requirements are met in keeping with the relevant guidelines, the aim being to generate the corporate report and help sharpen the corporate results
  • Preparing the recurrent profit and loss accounts and balance sheet in keeping with legal requirements and the parent organisational reporting guidelines, in order to acquire insight into the results and be in a position to advise the management
  • Preparing the financial basis (reality/forecasting) for the (strategic) annual plan in close consultation with the Managing Director, in order to check the feasibility of the planned activities. Also uses this information to help form the objectives. 
  • Advising the management team. The PFD also advises the individual MT members on broad financial matters, taking into account possible conflicts of interest between this subsidiary and the parent company at corporate level, the ultimate aim being to contribute positively to the result. Complies with the instructions of the AO/IC unit.
  • Executing financial audits on projects and business establishments. 
  • Leading and directing the administration and Project Administrators, in order to monitor and improve the quality of the financial reporting. 
  • Involvement in matters of financing and funding (in conjunction with treasury and legal deparment of parent company).
  • Maintaining a functional contact with the CFO of the parent company and report direct to the MD of this subsidiary. 

The Project Finance Director is part of the Management Team.

Profile

To be succesfull in this job, the candidate needs to meet the following requirements: 

  • Specialization in Business Economics (Msc).
  • Extended knowledge of accounting tools and techniques, preferably in a international oriented project organisation or project environment within an organisation.
  • Is used to think along with general management but from a critical/risk perspective.
  • Can provide a counter-balance towards management.
  • Is able to function as the key staff member with (reasonable) knowledge of (fiscal) legislation, matters of financing and legal affairs. Is able to read/ analyse contracts/ bank covenants.
  • Possesses (reasonable) knowledge about project finance, export credit guarantees/insurance, suppliers credits, senior debts, mezzanine, (quasi-)equity etc.
  • Capable of reporting and clarifying facts & figures and interdependent tendencies.
  • Is competent in the field of credit control (accounts receivable, payment policies).
  • Willing to travel abroad on a structural base (travelling% appr. 25%, extra ad hoc).

Salary indication of this role is 100-120K OTE excluding secondary benefits.
