The organisation

Our client is a leading international multi billion dollar company owned by Private Equity with Executive Management in The Netherlands and subsidiaries all over the world.

The position

In this role with a direct report to the Concern Controller you are mainly responsible for enhancing the quality of the financial reporting by auditing and improving financial business processes/ administrative registration throughout the organisation. Secondly you are responsible for unifying, further defining and controlling the KPIs of all (inter)national subsidiaries.

In this newly created role you start as an one (wo)man department but it is likely that this department will grow to a few direct reports.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Co-design, implement improvements and maintenance the financial- and administrative procedures in order to enhance the quality of the administrative registration and financial reporting;
  • Design the Audit control framework and manage this framework to the Divisional Finance Directors
  • Check 'ad random' on completeness and accuracy of administrative registration and reporting by conducting (financial and operational) audits at various entities, namely branch offices and projects around the world on correct application of the procedures, work instructions and legislation
  • Seeks cooperation with other departments (QHSE, Legal) when relevant; --> however the role is close to audit related tasks our client likes to emphasize this is not a 'real' audit role but more a conceptual role with the 'ad random' operational checks of financial control.
  • Prepare regular reports on audits conducted and provides recommendations for improvements on registration
  • Ensure that all audit results will be documented and analysed
  • Oversees audits and other (financial) controls; Is responsible for the audit framework
  • Deducts business consequences from reporting based on analysis
  • Supply information on procedures, work instructions and audits conducted
  • Oversees and monitor timely and complete contributions for KPI’s from the Subsidiaries and staff departments
  • Prepares the corporate KPI’s on a quarterly basis
  • Has the responsibility of the templates of the right Key Performance Indicators of Subsidiaries and staff departments
  • Safeguard the progress of the KPI process

Candidate profile

  • A university degree with preferably a postdoc study (Certified Register Accountant or Certified Register Controller)
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years relevant work experience within an industrial environment or possibly within a B4 environment (international clients) added with a few years within the industry. It is likely that the candidate gained experience within an Internal audit department or a financial control/ reporting department
  • Willingness to travel quarterly one or two weeks
  • Excellent communications skills combined with Cross-Cultural social skills
  • Conceptual and at the same time hands-on
  • Self-starting, analytically strong and result driven

Terms & conditions

Gross annual salary based on 12 months and holiday allowance of max. € 105.000. Possibility for a bonus. Company Car and market competitive secondary benefits.
