Business Development Director Catalysis

The organization

For one of our clients we are searching for a Business Development Director Catalysis.

Our client is a technology company specialized in the area of advanced catalytic research, with groundbreaking innovations as primary goal. Providing research services and advanced high-throughput catalyst testing systems for (petro) chemical companies worldwide. Project teams work together with customers to supply fast, accurate and reliable catalyst performance information in joint research and technology transfer projects. A unique technology enables customers to significantly reduce time and money needed for development and optimization of catalytic processes.

The position

The Business Development Director Catalysis will be working in a team. Furthermore he/she will:

• Identify sales leads and convert them into valuable R&D solutions to clients operating in the international bio renewable, refinery and (petro) chemical sector.
• Lead business development activities for appointed areas and customers to meet the targeted order intake, revenue and profitability.
• Develop and maintain a network of contacts with new and existing clients/markets.
• Ensure close and effective liaison between all parties involved in the buying process (technical and commercial) in acquiring technology focused R&D solutions. 
• Perform market analyses to identify target clients and there technology needs. Put strategies in place to position the organization as the favored supplier of R&D technology solutions to these clients. 
• Prepare and present reports, budgets, forecasts and other necessary information on regional business development activity to management. 
• Play a bridging role between the companies R&D technologies and market opportunities.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate has experience with catalytic processes. Furthermore has:

• International sales experience in technologically advanced equipment and/or services with deal values exceeding 1000k Euro. 
• Relevant experience (>5 yrs) in international chemical R&D and/or technology (bio renewable, refinery and petrochemical). 
• Cultural sensitivity, preferably with track record in Middle-East, Southern Europe and Asia. 
• The ability to perfectly understand and address customer needs based on experience. 
• Ambition to work against challenging personal and business performance targets. 
• A hands-on mentality, result oriented with good entrepreneurship. 
• Have the ability to work in a small and dynamic organization. 
• Self-motivated, communicative and fully aware that success is a team achievement. 
• Willing to travel extensively for business purposes (25% to 40%). 
• Fluent in English.
