The organisation

A fast growing global software company. The organisation is a global provider of a content management system for the enterprise.

The position

Reporting to the CEO and part of the management team, the VP Services will drive our growth strategy and be responsible for the delivery of technical, advisory, support, infra and project delivery services. This leader should have experience in working in a software company and a good understanding of the consulting market, including a broad understanding of the overall software marketplace. He/she understands the intricacies of working with integration partners and full service agencies, and has experience delivering technical and support services to top companies in the market. 

Services is a critical factor in helping to increase the company footprint in EMEA and North America. To accelerate license sales and reduce churn the service team is indispensable in delivering proof points, best practices and a great customer experience.

The ideal individual will be both visionary and pragmatic, and will be able to work effectively with many different stakeholders. He or she will define and drive the company Services international growth strategy, ensure execution, and build and manage high performing teams to success.


Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage the Services businesses (40FTE) worldwide, and be accountable for billings, utilization, margin and customer satisfaction;
  • Define and drive the growth strategy;
  • Be accountable for attracting top talent, retaining this talent, and enablement of the services team. Mentor and coach services team members, and manage performance;
  • Define and execute key programs and initiatives within market;
  • Oversee the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects including proactively reviewing projects to ensure they are structured for success and meet defined quality standards;
  • Develop effective executive level relationships with key customers;
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage customer expectations and escalations, and ensuring that a clear, well thought out action plan is developed and executed to ensure a successful conclusion;
  • Ability to be an effective business partner to the Sales leaders to develop a sales pipeline, convert it to customer success, and ultimately lead to having customers for life;
  • Ability to create, review, effectively present and negotiate SLA’s, SOW’s and other contracts;
  • Manage the operational components of the business, bookings forecasting, billings forecasting, utilization, and resource management.

Candidate profile

  • Broad-based business and technology professional with 10+ years of Consulting delivery and management experience, with a proven track record of managing a P&L gained with a software or services organization;
  • Detailed understanding of best practices for enterprise CMS systems and experience with complex CMS and IT deployments;
  • Visionary executive with a proven entrepreneurial track record of defining and delivering new initiatives;
  • Consistent track record of building and managing great teams and relentless operational execution;
  • Extensive international experience in managing and growing business in both developing and mature markets ideally having experienced international assignments as part of your career development;
  • Ability to evaluate and develop the existing teams and reshape them as necessary while mentoring and inspiring teams from many different cultures around the world;
  • Skillful collaboration and diplomacy to ensure smooth working relationships across teams;
  • Robust analytical skills and the ability to deliver on detail as well as strategy;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills;
  • Extensive experience presenting to and collaborating with Sr. Management including CEO;
  • Ability to quickly grasp and distinctly explain technology and business concepts;
  • A technical degree and MS or MBA;
  • Must be fluent (written and spoken) in both English and Dutch.
