The organisation

Hilding Anders is the leading international provider of bedding solutions, recognized by the industry and trusted by customers. The company offers beds and mattresses sold under own brands and private labels in co-operation with leading international furniture retailers. Established in Sweden, the company nowadays annually produces approximately 8 million mattresses at 23 factories in 18 countries. The Dutch organization, located in Vroomshoop, employs approximately 150 people and takes care of the manufacturing, marketing and sales of several Hilding Anders brands and private labels. A highly driven marketing and sales team (15 people) takes care of serving their customers with the brands Eastborn, Pullman and Jensen. Hilding Anders wants to strengthen its market position and to realize further growth on the Dutch market. We therefore are seeking for a 

Sales and Marketing Director.

The position

It will be your challenge to realize sustainable growth for the company, in revenue, as well as in market share and overall profitability. As country manager you will have full P&L responsibility for the Dutch business, covering all brands of the Hilding Anders group in the Netherlands. From a sales and marketing perspective it will be your job to develop and implement an effective brand strategy in alignment with the group strategic framework. In order to strengthen relationships with trade partners and to identify new opportunities for the Dutch market, you will have a strong personal customer involvement as well. You will both manage the local management team and your marketing & sales team (6 direct reports). You will closely work together with peer directors in other countries and will co-operate with colleagues from supply chain and private label. You will report to the President of the Business Region SouthWest Europe.

Candidate profile

  • Bsc. or Msc. in International Economics/Business Administration.
  • At least ten years experience as a sales and marketing director/country responsible, ideally in an industry related to durable consumer goods (furniture, kitchens, floors).
  • Proven track record of building and growing business, including change management.
  • An entrepreneurial, results-oriented generalist, familiar with working in international matrix organizations.
  • A strong, charismatic and socially confident leader who leads by example, values team play, has a common sense approach to management and a can-do attitude.
  • A persuasive communicator with good listening skills; fluent in English.
