Director of Distribution

The position

The Director of Distribution ensures that the right capabilities and resources are in place to support the future growth plans and the strategy of our client.

An active contribution to the strategy (and its execution), long term vision and further development of the diversity and talent of the team is expected of the Director of Distribution, who is a member of our client’s Logistics Management Team.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Cooperate with the distribution management team, working to build a high performing team
• Lead, manage and develop the distribution center (DC)
• Manage talent planning within the DC team
• Provide leadership direction
• Build and lead the execution of the departmental business plan and budget
• Ensure an optimal resource allocation and budgeting
• Build strong work relations across the whole organization and inspire other leaders to think End to End, with the customer in mind

Candidate profile

• Master degree in Economics, Engineering or Logistics or equivalent through experience.
• 8 – 10 years relevant working experience
• Strategic thinker
• Team player, results oriented with excellent people skills
• Good understanding of Supply Chain Management theory and best practices
• Experience in leading a big team via direct and indirect reports
• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)

Salary indication

The salary indication for this position is € 100.000 OTE.
