Exact is a well known, international ERP-software vendor with a strong focus on clients within small & medium businesses and the midmarket. The company is listed since 1999 and has recently adapted its structure. Today, the company has two divisions, Business Solutions and Cloud Solutions. The company has over 1,800 employees globally, the headquarters are located in Delft, The Netherlands. Because of the new company structure, the position of Technology Director Business Solutions was developed. This role is of strategic importance to the company and reports directly to the Managing Director Business Solutions who is a member of the board.

Job Description

You are responsible for establishing Exact’s technical vision and leading all aspects of Exact’s technology development of its on-premise products. The portfolio consists of a number of product lines: Exact Globe Next, Exact Synergy Enterprise, Exact AEC, Exact Event Manager, Exact Financials, Exact ProAcc (Belgium) and Exact Dimoni (Spain). These products are used on a daily basis by about 50.000 customers, hence these products and this position are of strategic importance to Exact. You will closely cooperate with colleagues responsible for Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, Finance, HR and Support.
You will be responsible for a team of specialized and technical professionals. The departments that report to you are Architecture, Software Engineering and Quality Engineering, UX design and Product Management. Your official span of control consists of about 40 staff through 9 direct reports. A team of over 100 developers and testers in the development center in Kuala Lumpur will report to you through a dotted line.
 
Responsibilities:

• Provide visible leadership for Exact within the technology community
• Deliver the product roadmaps on time and within development budget for the diverse software solutions
• Execute maintenance and technological design tasks
• Drive Business Solutions SCRUM team operations in the Netherlands, Kuala Lumpur, Belgium, Spain and possibly the Unites States, as well as a small, outsourced team
• Execute and drive overall roadmap for Mobile and User Experience
• Drive overall IT architecture roadmap across the different products
• Advise about the core strategy of the Business Solutions Portfolio
• Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of Exact’s leadership in the competitive landscape

Job Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in software development of (standard) business software at a software vendor
• A minimum of 8 years management experience, preferably management to management
• A solid technical background, experience in managing SCRUM-teams is preferred
• Able to oversee a complex software landscape with multiple techniques and solutions
• Experience in working in an international organization and working with virtual teams
• Preferably some experience in managing outsourced projects
• Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills on various levels
• Ability to create and foster a team environment that encourages initiative, creativity, people development and achievement of goals
• A strong drive and passion for software technology and quality with respect for budgets and deadlines
• A strategic vision combined with a hands-on approach
• Proactively drive product innovation
• Provide internal and external thought leadership on products and business value
• Analytical and conceptually strong
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
• Ability to communicate and conduct presentations clearly and concisely in English and preferably in Dutch, both orally and in writing
