The Benelux organization is part of a European organization that’s currently represented in 19 countries. Also in a European point of view, there is a strong growth. In Europe, around 7,000 FTE are employed by the organization.

Job description

The IT Director’s responsibility is, by means of IT and as part of the Benelux management team, to help the Benelux organization fulfil its business objectives in the most effective and efficient way possible. Challenge for the coming years is to replace current systems and allign them with the international organization whilst runnig the daily business in an effective way.

The IT Director’s principal goals are to:

• Ensure 24x7 business continuity and proactively support of all business-critical IT systems and processes of the Benelux organization
• Initiate and manage improvements of the IT systems and processes, in order to optimally and continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Benelux organization

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in the strategic and operational management of the business organization as a member of the management team
• Establish and act as advocate for the organization’s IT vision and strategy, objectives and priorities, in line with the long-term needs of the organization
• Work closely with the management team and other decision makers in the organization to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support optimal IT solutions to best enable the organization
• Manage strategic and operational planning of the IT department, including priority setting, resource allocation, and portfolio-, program- and project planning within the specific agreed budgets and timelines
• Supervise and direct the management and execution of all IT projects and other improvement initiatives, in terms of scope, quality, planning, budget, and communication, in line with the needs of the organization; the stores in particular
• Develop and evaluate business case and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives, within the agreed framework with finance

Your profile:

• 5+ years “hands on“ experience in managing and/or directing IT operations with considerable substance, but with an ‘oversee-able’ scope
• Extensive experience in managing complex IT projects
• Experience in a retail environment preferred
• In-depth understanding and knowledge of current IT systems, from both technical and functional perspective
• In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and audit guidelines related to IT
• In-depth understanding of business strategy and objectives, and ability to translate these to IT in a cost efficient way
• Ability to develop and advocate an IT vision, strategy and architecture, in line with the strategy of the organization
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language, both on management and end-user level
• Proven experience with business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent skills in human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, also in English
• Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and proactive environment

Terms of employment:

• €110.000 – 130.000 OTE
