Success in this position is based upon results in the Treasury Organization and results in Strategic Finance. The main tasks for the Group Treasurer, from an organizational perspective, are:
Profile Treasury Director
The ideal candidate for this position has seniority and charisma, he will be accepted without hesitance by his department. Because of the company culture, only a candidate with a high energy level, a can-do mentality, diplomatic skills and excellent analytical skills will succeed. Of course he is a good negotiator who earns money for his company. The Group Treasurer will be able to ‘hit the ground running’. He will most likely cover the following:
Our client is a commodity trading, sales and logistics organization. It has a revenue of almost 10 billion Euro,
approximately 300 employees and a global presence with a focus on Western Europe. The head office is located
in the western part of the Netherlands. Various prominent companies have merged into the current organization, thus
creating one of the major players in the European market. The company is young and ambitious, its culture is informal. Employees are result driven, hands-on and willing to invest in themselves and the organization. The board is relatively young, has been successful over the past years and has been entrusted with the task to lead the organization into its new life phase.
The CFO organization consists of the departments Business Control, Group Control, Risk Management and Group Treasury. It goes without saying that there is a close cooperation between these departments, especially between Risk and Treasury. The Treasury Department has 10 employees, divided over Financing, Cash Management and Credit Management. After the merger it has been decided that one centralized treasury department should be created. The current treasury staff has always lived up to expectations. Given the exposures of the new organization and the integration projects, a Group Treasurer will be appointed who can lift the treasury department to a level that meets the company's international ambition to grow of the company.
