European Tax Director

Our client is a world leader in the battery business and provides services and systems that enhance vehicle performance and fleet utilization as well as those that reduce risk of temporary interruptions of power supplies.

The position

• Lead all of the tax matters for Europe
• Lead the preparation of the German income tax return filings
• Lead all of the European transfer pricing, including Advanced Transfer Pricing Agreement, and income tax audit matters
• Assist Senior Director of International Tax and foreign financial controllers/controllers with local tax planning strategies to minimize global cash tax expense for the company´s operations worldwide
• Conduct US review of foreign tax reporting packages prepared by foreign controllers for calculation of the global tax provision
• Team with Senior Director of International Tax in the preparation of the ASC 740 deferred tax computation for the global tax provision
• Team with Senior Director of International Tax to assist with global restructuring, acquisitions and dispositions, in a tax efficient manner
• Build relationships with foreign controller group to allow for efficient identification of tax issues and assistance with providing timely and beneficial solutions
• Performs special projects as requested by the Senior Director of International Tax
• Must be able to travel from time to time

Candidate profile

• Bachelor''s Degree in Accounting. Masters of Taxation preferred
• Minimum of 8 years tax experience, preferably including experience with Big 4 accounting firm and large multinational organization
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal customers
• Knowledge of tax research and spreadsheet applications is required
• The ability to work effectively in a team-based environment is essential together with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are critical
• Must be a self-starter with minimum supervision
• Experience in Europe tax audit preferred
