The organisation

Our client is an international family entertainment and media company, providing a new and unique offering to the market. Combined with unique technology applications, media-rich storytelling and world famous characters, the company is doing something completely new in the world of location based edutainment (Educational Entertainment).

The studio is located in Los Angeles. The fiscal HQ is located in Luxemburg. The company’s operational HQ will be located in Amsterdam (NL). The Asia HQ (Business Development) will be set up in Kuala Lumpur.

?The position

The company is looking for an entrepreneurial CFO with a broad, international and forward-looking.

In daily practice the CFO is from a financial point of view fully responsible for the internal organization and for the external organization as the chief financial spokesperson. He also manages the people responsible for HR, IT and Legal.

The CFO has the ultimate responsibility for the financial policy/strategy. He controls the financial department where his team prepares financial reports, manages budgets, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding (engaging potential international investors and/or strategic partners to participate in joint-venture projects).

The CFO is responsible for the financial (final) accounting/auditing and will ensure financial compliance.

Candidate profile

• Relevant academic education (a doctorate in economics or MBA, both with a significant focus on finance) with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience (the majority gained in an international entrepreneurial organization / the industry can be diverse in nature)
• A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in an end responsible role with focus on the financial discipline of an organization
• Experienced in working in privately owned (our client) and with public owned companies (joint-venture partners) and used to the strict adherence of time- & deadlines
• Relevant experience as a strategic partner within the Board and MT
• Someone who is commercially astute and has the intellectual and strategic agility to be comfortable, both in a board-room environment and in a more entrepreneurial, low key and dynamic environment
• Driven and ambitious, with high levels of personal energy, able to inspire, encourage and lead those around them. Flexible, self-starter.
• Able to operate on both a strategic and detailed level, bringing the flexibility required to succeed in a dynamic, demanding and continually evolving business. Positive attitude, thinks in solutions, rather than problems.
• Used to working in an international environment (experience abroad is a clearplus) and is highly fluent in English. Willingness to travel.

Terms & conditions

The salary indication for this position is between € 150.000 - 200.000 OTE.
