The position

A position in which you will grow the service offering and revenues for the business, including the establishment of a physical presence in Central Europe.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Business Development Director for their operations in The Netherlands. A position in which you will grow the service offering and revenues for the business, including the establishment of a physical presence in Central Europe. In this role you will own the strategy, processes, tools and commercial client portfolio management to ensure the development of a roadmap for diversifying into other wastewater sectors - through client base of specific partnerships.

For this crucial position, we are seeking a hands-on strong commercial manager, who is able to establish a platform to grow the rental model for the deployment of water treatment systems, within the construction sector and industrial water sector in Central Europe.

Stakeholders

In this role you will directly report into the Managing Director UK and work closely together with UK team on local and international opportunities. Part of the senior management team - your focus is to develop the business for the European region, and in due time (growth of the client portfolio) establish a local team.

The organisation in the UK consists of 78 employees - Your peers in the senior management team are the Head of Operations and the Head of Finance.

At Siltbuster you will be part of an international and diverse team - with a vision as Market Leader for Responsive, Modular, Wastewater Treatment Solutions.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • In this role you will have the full responsibility for the Dutch and Central Europe sales operations - and will be expected to drive growth and success by initiating new strategic approaches within the market in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders
  • The Business Development Director will be accountable establishing a base for the Central European operations through existing Client base and/or by identifying partnership opportunities for sustained growth
  • Accountable for shaping the business focus / strategy for a growing rental solutions-based model for package plant systems through deployment of proven technology in novel applications
  • Our client is seeking a Business Development Director with a strong, hands-on approach - someone who is able to establish a defined roadmap for growth within the defined UK business model - a senior (technical) professional who is able to translate and implement the strategic initiatives set by group - including developing a team of territory-based managements and technical engineers
  • In this role you should lead by example and be a true visible leader for the operations - represent the organisation in forums and events to promote the value position of the offering of the business

Candidate profile

Your characteristics

  • To be successful in this role you ideally bring a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience - ideally within the water treatment or environmental industry
  • Ideally an Engineer or Environmental degree
  • Technical sales experience within a B2B SME (international) environment
  • Ideally the candidate should bring experience of growing a SME business into a European entity with multi-national opportunities
  • A practical outlook with a view on environmental regulations
  • Excellent communication and (stakeholder) management skills, ability to deliver impactful messages at all levels of the organisation
  • Fluent in Dutch and English - an additional language is considered a plus
